Well, yesterday may have been a shit show on a lot of levels but at least there was one bright spot - found a cell phone on the seawall, left a note to the owner to go collect it at a nearby hotel and left it with the front desk, then later got an email from the concierge telling me that the man came to claim his phone and was so grateful as he had to catch a flight back to China that night. For all the times that I've lost wallets full of cash, phones and keys and somehow gotten it all back intact, this is paying it back and paying it forward. And just think, if my friend didn't drive me up the seawall, it may not have come together. Again, sometimes bad things happen for good reasons. And hopefully it left that guy feeling a little brighter about humanity, just as it does for me each time these things happen. In the end, all we can do is try to create a little beauty and brightness in our respective corners of the world.
