Caroline had a big heart, a raucous laugh. Music surrounded her like a cloud of perfume, from the phone tucked in her pocket. Kind, smart, hilarious, outspoken. She outraced adventure. Loved her family and her southern roots. Worked hard for her nursing degree. She made me laugh. She was up for anything. Meteors. You know, those special few who stand out from the rest of the stagnant stars. When we blink, they're gone. We stare longingly at the spot we last saw them, wanting more. Grateful that this particular meteor crossed our sky.
