Description
We owe this man my son's life. We are so sad he is moving out of the area, but grateful and blessed he was where we needed him to be on that December Saturday afternoon. He made a decision that day against normal protocol and other surgeons' opinions. He made the decision that a 17 year old boy's life was worth the chance, no matter how slight. He was the only medical professional in those early days who gave us permission to hope. He was the only medical professional, therefore, who was correct.
"no one can or should make an early prognosis in these cases, because no one can measure or predict the will of the human spirit"
Godspeed, Doc. You are an amazing man. Thank you.
(Editor's note: Damon Szatkowski continues to recover, and just scored a 92 on his math midterm at Penn State.)
