Description
family is raising funds for local air ambulance who kept their 23-year-old alive long enough for them to say their goodbyes.

“Even though they could not save him, they still worked wonders.”

Jamie Lawrenson was found in a critical condition at his home on December 17.

However, thanks to the work of the ambulance crews on the scene, the hospital was able to keep Mr Lawrenson alive until members of his family arrived at his bedside.

Mrs Lovelock said: “We were able to say goodbye to him, and we watched him take his last breath.

“We were able to hold his hand and touch his hair, and tell him that we loved him and that we were going to miss him.

“Just to be able to cuddle him meant a lot.

“His family all had time to get there.

“Even though they could not save him, they still worked wonders.”

Mr Lawrenson died about 11.22pm that evening.

Following his death, his family wanted to raise money for the air ambulance in recognition of their help.

Mrs Lovelock said: “We will never be able to repay the favour to the men and women who tried their best to save his life – we will be forever in their debt, but we will be forever grateful.
