My mother passed away in May 2011 after a 9 yr battle with Alzheimer's. Last Holiday Season I didn't mourn her as much as I had this one, maybe it had to due with my severe back surgery I had and I didn't have time to think about it. I lost my Dad in 1985 to Lung Cancer and losing my Mom just took me over the edge. I have 4 siblings but I felt like an orphan, crazy. I was very close to my Mom, I would even say closer than any of my other siblings we had a beautiful friendship and a loving mother, daughter.

After helping my mother and spending as much time with her, caring for her in person or financially. I find that I'm a nuturing person to the elderly so in 2013 I will volunteer in nursing homes, retirement communities. I'm so grateful to have this attitude of helping and loving those that have no one, my mother would be so proud of me, this is what she would expect of me. For Bernice Emley passed away on May 29, 2011 at the age of 90.
