I read your article on Yahoo news today and that, reminded me of a poem, which I was inspired to write, over the 2012 Thanksgiving.

Here is my story of gratitude to share..............

Today and Every Day

I am grateful
To see the green of the trees
And the red of the rose

I am grateful to see the shine
In a child’s eyes
As it glows

I am grateful
To hear..the singing of the
Early morning birds
And yes….even the crows

I am grateful
To taste the sweet of honey
In a hot cup of tea
On a chili autumn day
As the wind ….outside…blows

And when the sun comes out
I am much grateful
For the warmth of the sun
On my face and skin
As it flows…..

I am much grateful
To enjoy the fragrance of the
Jasmine, Lily, Sweet Peas and the Rose

Yes …I am grateful
For these five senses
And the sixth …as it grows

Oh….I am much grateful
For this miraculous…
Mystical gift of life
That God …through these senses
So graciously …
On me….bestows

For this life energy
So beautifully
Day and night….
In me…flows

I am grateful for
All the games and the plays
That life…everyday
Into my path…brings and shows

Oh….I am much grateful
For Dance, Music, Poetry
And yes….even the prose

And yes indeed
I am grateful for
Day and night
Darkness and light
Blindness and sight
Sadness and delight
Peace and fight
Wrong and right

All dualities of life
That is part… and with this life …
It goes

I am grateful
For wholeness…All of you…
Being next to this heart
And so very close

Yes…. I am grateful for this gift of life
Yes Indeed…. I am grateful for this miraculous
Gift of life…
That God …so graciously
On me… bestows
