I always take two weeks off from my job at the holidays. It's a good way to end the old year and bring in the new.

This year at the begining of my vacation, one of my beloved 12-year old poodles came down with a severe case of pancreatitis and became gravely ill. She spent almost a week in the hospital. Then on a routine vet visit, our vet discovered a tumor on her sister/litter mate which is malignant and has to be removed with possible radiation to follow.

I am so grateful to have these two weeks off from work to be able to take my little poodle babies to multiple vet visits and stay home with them to keep them calm during their recovery. I am grateful to all the skilled vets who have aided in their early diagnosis and provided wonderul medical care/treatment. And I am grateful to have some unexpected extra funds to help pay for all of this.
